This week it’s Oleg Oprisco’s incredible images. I found his portfolio on Photography Served and was immediately drawn to the images. They are ethereal, dreamy, soft focused with lots of bokeh… just what I like, really! Not much else to say about them!
What do you think of them? Do you like them as much as I do?

PS: I started my photography course proper today so I’ll have work to show soon… keep in touch with the links to Tumblr and Flickr, above, too!
This week on my tenth “photo shoots I’ve loved” post, I’m going to focus on a fashion story shot by Eric Guillemain for NuméroTokyo May 2012 featuring the pink-haired beauty, Charlotte Free. The shoot is tough but girly and soft-focused at the same time, it emphasises a heavily adorned wardrobe and pink and white are the dominant colours, contrasting and offsetting the gurney, tough pose and makeup.
What do you think about this shoot? Is it too much?
Apologies for not posting yesterday, I don’t feel very inspired at the moment! I’ll be sure to write a post on what inspires me next week.
So, now on to the seventh post in this series. I’ve been so busy the last few weeks. This week has been quiet (thankfully). I got an interview date for a Photography course (it’s on the 29th) so I’ve tried to put together a portfolio for that, I’m going to get prints tomorrow so I’m nearly finished. I need to plan and shoot one more project and print it and I’ll be finished. Chai Media finished filming Aisling Conlan last week so we need to get editing on that soon! The photography studio where I’m interning asked us to film a promotional video for them so I wrote a proposal for that the other day, I need to edit it and see what they think.
Busyness is good :D
How has your week been?
PS: I followed back all my followers (that’s a mouthful!) to show my appreciation, thank you!
This week I want to talk about something different from the usual “arty” videos; an advertisement. I’ve been meaning to write about this for a while but I keep forgetting. This is incredible, I absolutely love it. It’s an advertisement for the HTC One phone. The ad depicts a fashion shoot, conducted while falling from a plane. The shoot is done by a photography student, on the phone. The ad itself is shot very creatively, with other people (apart from the photographer, model and cameraman) free-falling with smoke canisters on their backs to emit plumes of smoke as they fall. This adds to the overall drama of the piece. The camera moves with the model, as she moves through the plane and jumps out and then seamlessly cuts to a wide shot of the photographer photographing and directing her. This ad would make me want to buy the phone, I suppose that’s the sign of a good advertisement, for maybe I was just hooked as soon as I heard “photography” (tell me what you think in the comments! :P).
What do you think of this ad? Does it make you want to buy the phone?

This week it’s Michael Ostermann’s fashion illustrations. These are amazing, they are both disturbing (some models have their mouths sewn shut) and beautiful at the same time. The digital effects Ostermann used contrast with the model and give a surreal look to the photos. A crown of thrones in some photos point to a Christian theme.

What do you think of these? Did Ostermann go “too far” when manipulating these?

This incredible. It’s a time-lapse of European cities. It’s shot so well, there’s no flicker between shots, the transitions are smooth. Plus it’s shot with the camera I own, so it’s amazing to see what could be done with it!
